  • What is Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM)?

    Remote patient monitoring (RPM) is a healthcare delivery method that uses digital technologies to monitor and analyze a patient’s vitals and other health data outside of a traditional clinical setting. RPM technology electronically transmits health information between patients and physicians. This type of monitoring is often used to manage and care for high-risk patients, such as those with acute or chronic health conditions.

  • What devices we use for RPM?

    We use ihealth blood pressure machine, ihealth scale, Dexcom and Freestyle Libre continuous glucose monitors.

  • Will I get billed for this service?

    No, your insurance cover this service, and if the insurance doesn't pay for the service we will waive the fee.

  • Benefits of RPM?

    RPM enables clinicians to observe patients in near real-time, gather necessary data, and make adjustments to improve care outcomes. This type of continuous tracking is helpful for patients with ongoing care needs, such as those with diabetes, heart conditions, asthma, hypertension

  • What is the Omnipod 5 Automated Insulin Delivery System?

    The Omnipod 5 System is the only tubeless automated insulin delivery system integrated with Dexcom G6 Continuous Glucose Monitor(CGM) to manage blood glucose with no multiple daily injections, zero fingersticks* and is fully controlled by a compatible personal smartphone.** Omnipod 5 consists of the tubeless and waterproof† Omnipod 5 Pod, the Omnipod 5 App with SmartBolus Calculator and Dexcom G6 Continuous Glucose Monitor(CGM)‡.     †The Pod has an IP28 rating for up to 25 feet for 60 minutes. The Omnipod 5 Controller is not waterproof. The Dexcom G6 sensor and transmitter are water-resistant and may be submerged under eight feet of water for up to 24 hours without failure when properly installed.

    ‡To use Omnipod 5 in Automated Mode, the Dexcom G6 mobile App is required. The Dexcom G6 is sold separately and requires a separate prescription. The Dexcom G6 receiver is not compatible with the Omnipod 5 System.

  • What continuous glucose monitoring devices are compatible with the Omnipod 5 Automated Insulin Delivery System?

    The Omnipod 5 System is compatible with the Dexcom G6 Continuous Glucose Monitor(CGM). The Dexcom G6 App is required to control the Dexcom G6 CGM

  • How does Automated Mode differ from Manual Mode?

    Automated Mode uses the CGM value and trend to make an insulin dose adjustment every 5 minutes using a customized glucose target. In Manual Mode, the System delivers insulin using a programmed basal rate. With the Omnipod 5 System, the user has the choice of whether they want to use Automated Mode or Manual Mode.

  • Does my phone has to be compatible with Dexcom to be able to use Automated mode?

  • What is Inpen insulin smart pen?

    The first FDA-cleared smart insulin pen system that helps you take the right dose at the right time. The pen is not disposable, you can use it up to one year. The pen connects to an App on your phone and can calculate your insulin dose before your meals

Low Blood Glucose/Sugar

  • What is considered low blood sugar?

    If your finger stick or your glucose sensor has a reading less than 70, that is considered to be low blood sugar and needs to be corrected especially if you are taking insulin

  • How to treat low blood sugar?


    • If your blood sugar is lower than 70, first thing you do is to take a fast acting source of sugar and then recheck your blood sugar again after 15 minutes, if your blood sugar is still below 70, take again a fast acting source of sugar and recheck after 15 minutes, once your blood sugar is above 70 you need to eat a long acting source of sugar as a snack.
    • Examples of fast acting sugar. The primary source that you should use is the glucose tablets that we prescribe for you, take 4 tablets as one treatment, and repeat if blood sugar is still below 70.
    • Another source of fast acting sugar is the emergency pen that we prescribe for you(Gvoke / Glucagon), this is a one use emergency pen that can increase your blood sugar.
    • If you ran out of glucose tablets or Gvoke, please give us a call to send you a refill
    • Other dietary sources of fast acting sugar: 4oz of Fruit juice or regular (not diet) soda pop, 6-7 life savers, one tablespoon of sugar or honey.
    • Examples of long acting sugar: Crackers, fruit, nuts.
    • Always keep a source of short acting sugar on you all the time in case of emergencies.
    • Make sure to wear a bracelet for diabetes in case of emergencies.
